INTRODUCTION & TESTIMONIALS OF OUR STAFF!!!

Let us introduce our wonderful team...

I am Miss Melissa, the lead teacher of the 2-year-old room (Koalas). I have been working at Kiddie Corner for over 5 years now, and I love what I do. I graduated from Buff State in December 2003 with my Bachelors in Sociology. I love the Kids in my room and I take care of them as if they are my own. I currently do not have any kids but I hope I will soon. (Aug/04)
I am Miss Julie and I work with the 1-2 year olds in the Penguin and Koala Rooms. I have been with Kiddie Corner for a year and a half now and loving every minute. I love being here and coming in each day to see all the Kids' smiling faces. I am currently attending Canisius College entering my third year as a Criminal Justice and Sociology major. (Aug/04)
My name is Eileen. I am the head teacher in the infant room at Kiddie Corner Day Care Center where I finished high school and became a nurse. I worked for a while, got married and decided to stay home and raise my family. I have 4 children and 4 grandchildren with one on the way. When my children were grown up and I decided to get a job outside my home I couldn't think of anything I'd rather do than take care of infants. They just light up your day. (Aug/04)
I am Miss Carrie and I have been at Kiddie Corner for 4 months and am loving every minute with the terrific 2-3 year olds! For the last 5 years, I worked with 3-5 year olds in a preschool setting. Before that I was employed by BOCES as a gifted and talented teacher for 2 school districts, grades K-8.
I obtained my BS in Elementary Education at SUNY Oswego, and am currently finishing my Masters in Early Childhood Education at the University of Buffalo. From there, I hope to go into the Doctorate Program for Administration.
The Panda Room is theme center-oriented with an emphasis on the children learning through structured play, circle time, gross motor activities and manipulatives. We also work on decision making skills and discovering our independence. (Aug/04)
My name is Caitlen and I have been working at Kiddie Corner for the past 2 1/2 years. I am currently in my 4th year at Buffalo State College majoring in Speech - Language Pathology. I come from a family of 7 children and have always known that I wanted to work with children. This is why my "home" is here with the staff and children of Kiddie Corner and I couldn't imagine being anywhere else. (8/04)
I'm Jill and am one of the more recent additions to the Kiddie Corner family and I am very excited to be here. I have studied Elementary/Childhood Education at Boston University in Massachusetts and I expect to obtain my degree from Canisius College in December 2004. I also have had the pleasure of teaching children dance at South Buffalo Dance Academy for over 9 years now. Overall I love working with children and I really enjoy the originality, creativity, and imagination that they bring. Moreover, I have learned that while all these years I thought that I was the one teaching the children, the funniest thing is that they were the ones teaching me. (8/04)
I'm Amanda and have been working at Kiddie Corner since January 2004. I am currently attending Daemen College. I concentrated on psychology my first year but after realizing that I should pursue my true passion, working with children, I switched my major to Early Childhood Special Education. I am hoping to pursue a career in childhood art or science. I am a red cross certified babysitter and have had experience with young children for the past 7 years. Outside of school and work, I run a Sunday School program for 3-5 year-olds at my Parish, Our Lady of the Sacred Heart. I am friendly, energetic and have a bubbly disposition; working with children brings out the best in me. (8/04)
